Before I started to work with the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce I thought it was too expensive of an investment for my small 1 person business. What I found is that by joining the Chamber I was able to get connected to dozens of business professionals who I would have never met on my own. In my first two years of involvement, I had revenue from referrals totaling over $10,000. In the following two years my revenue has totaled over $20,000 from referrals that are due 100% from my involvement in the Chamber of Commerce. Of all of the investments I have made, the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce has had the single biggest impact.

As tourism professionals, we knew that our success lied in developing key partnerships with businesses throughout the area, and that the Chamber offers one of the most effective ways to build those relationships. The CVB has been a true partner in promoting our business, connections made through business after-hours have been key, and opportunities such as small business workshops and on-the-job training grants have been instrumental in helping us grow. Our Chamber membership has shown its return on investment time and time again!

My involvement with the Chamber started as a result of their aiding in the development of the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. Soon after witnessing their work in the community I went to a Business After Hours Event and loved it! The networking opportunities provided by the Chamber have helped me build a network of professionals who supplement my staff and increase our capabilities. Even with a small advertising budget the Chamber has lent its network and credibility to help me maximize my exposure and reach. Our Chamber membership has been an invaluable tool in getting us to where we are today.

CFCU Community Credit Union is proud to be a member of the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce. The opportunities the Chamber provides for networking, business referrals, and educational events are invaluable. Through our participation in these events, we have formed strong relationships with local businesses and not-for-profit leaders, and have had the opportunity to share contacts. In addition, the Chamber’s seminars provide insight on governmental and economic issues that affect Tompkins County. We look forward to continuing our involvement with the Tompkins Chamber, and encourage other businesses to do the same.
