Prevention Training

Join the Tompkins Chamber as we present the New York State guidelines for sexual harassment prevention training. NYS law requires that employers provide a sexual harassment prevention policy and training on an annual basis to all employees, and encourages
training of new employees as soon as possible, noting that employers may be liable for the actions of employees immediately upon hire.
Public Speaking Workshop for
Young Professionals

Public Speaking is a top fear of many people, but we are here to help! The Tompkins Connect Public Speaking Workshop, taught by Rebecca Bradshaw (The Kitchen Theatre’s Producing Artistic Director) will teach young professionals how to prepare and deliver effective presentations, confidently and professionally.

Register in advance. Those who attended the FADE performance on Feb. 2 are eligible to attend the Public Speaking Workshop for FREE. For all others, the cost is $25 at-the-door.

Governor Hochul Expected to Drop Mask Mandate for Businesses This Week
ALBANY — New York's indoor mask-or-vaccine mandate governing businesses is expected to expire on Thursday and not be renewed, although the regulation that is being used to enforce masking in schools for children and employees is poised to remain in place beyond February.
On-the-Job Training Grant Program
Funding is intended to support people in recovery receiving educational and training supports, new or expanded job opportunities, and maintaining a recovery friendly employer base in Tompkins County. There is still over $75,000 in funding available.

The Tompkins Chamber, Visit Ithaca & the Downtown Ithaca Alliance have been collaborating on a feel-good campaign focusing on those working in the hospitality industry. The goal of this campaign is to spread kindness, encourage patience, and elicit understanding in acknowledgment that businesses are experiencing real staffing challenges. #TompkinsTogether is looking to include the entire community.
